This print depicts the wonderful relationship and connection (the 'Cordial Agreement') that exists between Great Britain and La Belle France, represented here by a Cockerel (France's symbol since Roman times - the Latin Gallos (rooster) and Gallus (Gauls) are homonyms) and a Lion.
Inspired by a piece Edward Bawden did for Fortnum & Mason, and by recent political divisions, which I seek to heal.
Printed in a strictly limited edition of 150, this 3-colour on 300 gsm Snowden acid-free cartridge paper and measures 30 cm wide by 42 cm high (A3, a standard frame size!). The print is signed and numbered by the Artist and posted in a stiff cardboard tube.
